Gibson / Custom Shop / 1968 Les Paul Standard 60s Gold Top, Reissue
The Gold Standard!
Gibson Custom Shop is the pinnacle of craftsmanship, quality, and sound excellence. Each instrument celebrates Gibson's legacy through accuracy, authenticity and attention to detail.
The Gibson Custom Shop 1968 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue is a meticulously-crafted replica of a "first batch" example from 1968, identified by a crown inlay on the face of the headstock. The distinctive look and scarcity of this variation makes it extremely desirable to collectors. Custom Shop has proudly recreated it in exhaustive detail, from the 14-degree headstock angle to the thick cutaway binding to the precise contours and profiles throughout. It offers not only a vintage ownership experience, but a completely inspiring sound and feel with every chord and strum.
Beautiful Gibson Custom Shop 68' in Excellent condition, with no dings, dents, or war wounds. Lightly and sparingly played and Glass Case displayed in a non smoking private humidified studio. This Gibson is very resonant and the neck profile is not too thick and not too thin. Instead, it is somewhere in between 50's and 60's profile neck carves. The P90s sound supreme and offer brilliant tone combinations with a simple twist of the knobs. This particular example was cherry picked / chosen out of 6 identical examples for weight, tone, and playability.
In the photos here I photographed the inside neck bout pocket, and found a small flaw, but it is not a ding, instead, it is likely dust nibs that are under the clear coat, Rubbing your finger on this spot feels smooth as glass, as it is under the clear coat and you can't feel it all. However, in full Jays Guitars transparency and disclosure, it must be mentioned and photographed to show prospective buyers. It does not affect the playability or feel of the instrument at all.
